The Long Way Down Is a good title for the story in my opinion as the title fits the story as it takes place in an elevator with a boy who is going down the elevator ready to kill and the elevator is probably referring to purgatory in the scene as a bunch of lost souls that either know Will or is close to Will via person. The atmosphere of the elevator is slow as its going down slowly in Wills perspective and his feelings from the start of the book until know changed because of the long way down in the elevator.

I agree with this because the title shows how Will was going down the elevator and meets people he knows on every floor he hits. Most of the floors had people that died and how he remembers them.

I agree that the atmosphere of the elevator is slow as its going down slowly in Will's perspective and his feelings from the start of the book until know changed because of the title "Long Way Down" elevator. You really chose to go from a different perspective when speaking about the primary.

The title "Long Way Down" is a perfect fit for the novel by Jason Reynolds because it shows the tough journey that Will goes through. The story takes place mostly in an elevator, and as Will goes down floor by floor, he faces ghosts from his past who share their stories about violence and revenge. For example, he meets his brother's friend and his mom, who both have a tragic experiences that show how this cycle of violence affects everyone. This downward ride reflects Will’s struggle and confusion about what to do next, showing how hard it is to escape this path. In the end, the title really carries the heavy feelings and choices he has to make.

I agree with this one because it explains how meaningful the elevator is on the way down and how Will is seeing dead people and time is moving slow as well for him in the story.

"A Long Way Down" is a fitting title for the book because the as all the readers know the book takes place in a elevator that stops at every floor and introduces new characters everytime and introducing new beliefs and ideas to the book in literal time it takes 60 seconds to get to the first floor.

I agree with this statement as its a shorter summary of the long way down and I like the added detail of the time but I feel like they should add more details on how the long way down of the elevator is more punctual and advanced way like thinking outside the box

Long way down is a novel about a young teenager living in a society where there is this set of rules you must follow when someone is murdered. The set of rules is Don't cry, Don't snitch, and get revenge. Will the Protagonist has to get revenge because his Brother Shawn was killed. Most of the Novel is passed in the elevator where different victims of the rules walk in on every level on the way DOWN. Throughout the Novel Will get a new perception and enlightenment from each of the Ghosts of the victims that walk in on the elevator. Last person to walk in is Shawn Will's older brother that was murdered the night prior. The novel end with Shawn walking out and saying " Will "are you Coming?" This Ending shows that we the reader don't know what can happen there is two possible outcomes either Shawn tells Will who his killer is and Will gets revenge or Will end the cycle and the set of rules there and go on to live his life Without having the society set of rules pressure him.

I agree with this because it refers to the physical journey Will takes in the elevator, but also the emotional and mental journey he takes as he considers his actions and the consequences of revenge.

Long Way Down is a fitting title for this novel because of the irony behind the name. Since most of the book takes place in the elevator. As Will on his way to quote "going to take revenge for his brother's death" The elevator goes down and stops at every floor. Where he encounters deceased friends and family. These interactions prolong the waiting time and the tipping point never seems to come. Long Way Down though short it's a fitting title for the story. Another factor that contributes to this is the fact that after all the wait and stories we as the reader learn: when Will finally arrives at his floor. We are left with an ending that leaves the reader to interpret in whoever way they want.

Long way down is kind of an ironic title considering the fact that it took him 4 minutes to get to the first floor. in wills mind it feels like an eternity because every single floor that he gets to someone else from his past shows up. Will tries to justify that what he is about to do is good because of the rules and he has to do it. as we read the book it feels like it took Will a long time to reach the first floor. everytime someone knew joins the elevator he's questions more and more if he should really do it and and there is multiple factor that really affected him like realizing that his father killed the wrong person in order to advance his brother Mark and he was really sure that he killed his brother the same way he thinks that Riggs killed his brother Shawn."is him, it had to be". also when his brother Shawn walked in the elevator and started crying he was confused because he is not supposed to be crying, that's one of the rules.

I agree with this it is ironic that the book is called long way down and it took 4 minutes to get to the fourth floor. Also I like the amount of details you provided. This couldn't have been any better .,

I totally agree. Wills journey and self growth. As the story develops we learn about the struggles in Wills communities and the cycle of revenge. I think you did a good job summarizing and breaking it down to the point.

The title "Long Way Down" by Jason Reynolds is fitting because it reflects the protagonist Will's descent into violence and the cycle of revenge that plagues his community, as well as the literal journey he takes in an elevator, foreshadowing his difficult path.In Jason Reynolds's "Long Way Down," the cigarettes and the smoke they produce symbolize the suffocating grief, disorientation, and the weight of loss that Will experiences as he grapples with the cycle of violence and the deaths of those around him.

"Long Way Down" is a fitting title for this ' novel because it goes of of revenge and the more he goes down I the elevator the more grief but understand he is becoming and he goes down a new person pops up every floor to talk to him and advice him and tell hims a lot of information he needs to know before he makes a wrong decision he will regret in the future. All of this means that it elevator ride felt so long because he started understanding and thinking on the way down. in the text it says “MY MOTHER USED TO SAY, I know you're young, gotta get it out, but just remember, when you're walking in the nighttime, make sure the nighttime
ain't walking into you.”

Long way down is a fitting name for this book because it shows how far they went down hill. It showed how getting revenge just keeps the cycle going and it only gets worse, it never stops until people are dead. In the text it says "The rules" this emphasises the rules they have on dealing with someone dying and revenge is one of the top.

"Long Way Down" is a good name for this book because it tells us about a boy named Will who is going down a elevator and every floor he goes down he gets visited by ghosts who reveal what happened to them and how violence affected them.It makes him rethink about getting violence on his brothers murder."They weren't meant to be broken. They were meant for the broken to follow."

LA DISPUTE:

The title Long Way Down is a fitting for this novel, the reason being that since the beginning of the book. It has felt like hell in a way to Will; he just keeps going down and down. The cigarette smoke is choking him as it keeps getting thicker and thicker and blurry(page 150). As he goes down he is just reflecting in his mind and these people he once knew or the people he loved in their lifetime keep popping up in the elevator. Kind of like a warning for Will. Just so that Will keeps thinking about what he is about to do. They know Will wants to do it because he wants to follow the rules he thinks he got to because that's what he was taught since he was young but in reality he doesn't have to. You can tell that to begin with he doesn't keep stuttering just getting words out about what he is about to do. Will feels pressure in a way though to follow as he was taught.
